Artist's Statement

Trees have always moved me in the way they puncture the sky with dramatic gestures. I love how they capture the light and turn it into shade. I’m drawn to their amazing forms:  torsos, textures and colors created by the elements and often scarred by human intervention.  They are silent heroes surrounding us and it is a joy to celebrate them in my paintings.
