Artist's StatementWarfield’s work focuses on gender, the body, and sexuality. Her works incorporate, image, text and fiber and speak to the complexities of the body, sexuality, ownership, command, and self.
About the ArtistAnna Warfield (b. 1995) is a fiber artist based in Whitney Point, New York. Warfield graduated from Cornell University in 2018 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts, and was honored with the Charles Baskerville Painting Award for her thesis work. Her recent exhibitions juried group shows at Site:Brooklyn Gallery in Brooklyn, NY; Schweinfurth Art Center, in Auburn, NY; and Artisan Gallery in Binghamton, NY where her triptych, “What’s It,” received an honorable mention. Warfield was recently a featured artist in ragazine.cc, an online arts and cultural publication. In the coming year, she has two solo exhibitions in the works; one with the Evelyn Peeler Peacock Gallery in Corning, NY, and one with Artisan Gallery in Binghamton, NY.
